I serve as acquistion editor for the Wesleyan Publishing House as well as editor Vista, WPH’s Sunday school “take-home” paper.

I’m looking forward to once again searching for great writing and especially discovering new talent. (That was the favorite part of my job when I worked for them as editor, then editorial director back in the 80s.)

Here’s what I’m searching for:

Vista

Short articles for ages 18 to 118. (I know, that’s a wide demographic!) So, looking for articles for: general spiritual growth, developing prayer life, habits of Bible reading, spiritual disciplines, evangelism, fellowship in the community of faith.

For young adults, I’m looking for articles on connecting with other Christians, career issues, budgeting, finding a spouse, dating and courtship, sexual purity, establishing a church home.

For families, homework help, getting children ready for school, dealing with teachers, marriage and relationship strengthening, budgeting, sexual purity, family devotions, teaching your faith to your children.

For ‘empty nesters, estate planning, retirement or second career/ministry, giving, taking care of elderly parents, rekindling romance, sexual purity.

For grandparents and older Aduls, how to handle the holidays, making new friends, coping with loss (loved ones, health, independence), downsizing, remarriage after losing a spouse, sexual purity.

I’m specifically looking for:

• Inspirational fiction or nonfiction (500-550 words) $35 first rights; $15 reprints

• Practical, how-to nonfiction (500-550 words) $35 first rights; $15 reprints

• Humor (250-300 words) $35 first rights; $15 reprints

• Short pieces (poetry, helpful quotations, etc.) (250 words) $20 first rights; $10 reprints

• Fillers on Christian topics (100 words) $5
