Iowa man canoes from his flooded home (CBC Photo)

Save me, O God,
   for the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in the miry depths,
   where there is no foothold.
   I have come into the deep waters;
   the floods engulf me.
Answer me, O Lord, out of the goodness of your love;
   in your great mercy turn to me.
(Psalm 69)

Some thoughts on:

Why did this happen?

How can I cope?

Where is God in natural disasters?

My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost homes, farms and loved ones in the worst flooding in the Midwest during the past 500 years.
